This is the time of year when illness seems to most impact students and staff. It is sometimes hard to know when a student should be sent to school and when they should stay home.  The links below lead to some great pieces of information and advice to help you and your family manage this season.

Willapa Valley staff and students warmly welcomed 22 veterans along with family members and friends to the district's K-12 Veterans Day recognition assembly on Friday, November 8. Each class contributed a unique tribute for the visiting veterans, whether through poems, songs, informational presentations, or thoughtful gifts. Attendees learned about ceremonial protocols, such as those for listening to Taps, which was then movingly performed by the Willapa Valley band. Students also shared a presentation on the significance of the red poppy, read letters they had written to honor veterans, and handed out cards decorated with personal drawings. Each veteran received a handcrafted metal poppy yard decoration made by CTE students.   Bus driver and veteran Greg Rekart addressed the assembly, sharing his memories of military service and reflecting on the dedication and hard work of service men and women.  The event concluded with visiting veterans posing with their poppies in front of the school's Veterans Memorial Wall, creating a memorable tribute to their service.
